South Australian Museum

This natural history museum is a place for families to learn and have fun. Families can visit the discovery centre to get all their questions answered and kids will love the collection of fossils on display. SA Police Road Safety Centre

Location:  Road Safety Centre, 1 Gaol Road Adelaide SA 500

What better way to teach kids to ride a bike and learn about road safety than to visit the Road Safety Centre. The SA Police have done a great job setting up a mock roadway which includes traffic lights, intersections, roundabouts and a pedestrian crossing. Bring your bike and helmet and spend a few hours riding around.

Glenelg Foreshore Playground

Location:  Moseley Square, Glenelg SA 504

This epic playground is beside the beach, has awesome equipment AND a waterplay area. Kids will love climbing, splashing and sliding and when they are tired of that, they can run on the beach. Families tip: Bring a change of clothes for after the wet and sandy play, then grab dinner at a café nearby.

St Kilda Adventure Playground

This epic playground is one to take the kids to when you need to tire them out. With a castle built into a hill (complete with a drawbridge), slides, flying fox and plenty of open space to run around in it is easy to spend a bit of time here.

The Wave Skateboard Park

Location:  Wharflands Esplanade, Port Augusta SA 5700

This skatepark is one of its kind. Its eccentric curves and artistically designed architecture make it a place for all to gather and chill. Bring an Esky filled with treats, a portable speaker, roller-skates, bikes or skateboards and you’ve got yourself a day of competitive fun.

Latitude Air Indoor Trampoline Park

Top things to do at night in Adelaide with kids must include this location! With a soft kids zone for under 5s, rock climbing, dodgeball (for the older kids), trampolines and even a ninja-warrior course – this place has lots to choose from. Open every day until 6 pm (Fridays 9pm).

Toddler World at Funtopia Prospect

What can you do in Adelaide at night with toddlers? This is a playground for children of all ages with a dedicated toddler zone which includes building blocks, slides and play equipment, interactive games and obstacles. The separate Playground World will keep the older children engaged as well as climbing walls for the even older age group – everyone covered at this place and even a coffee while you watch! This place is open until 5pm so very much an early evening activity, though Sundays you can visit until 6pm.

Adelaide Aquatic Centre

Location:  Jeffcott Road, North Adelaide SA 5006

With a Leisure Pool that has shallow waters to frolic in, waterslides and fountains, if you have a water baby, this is the place to visit. Bigger kids can enjoy the 50 metre main pool and there is also a dive pool. The centre has a café onsite. The centre is open daily until 9pm during the week and 6pm on weekends..

This is a late-night adventure for the weekend, but surely one not to be missed. With craziness which includes sharks, crocodiles, pirates and many many more ‘friends’, this will definitely amuse your little folk and let off some steam!
